What is a DEXA Scan?

DEXA scans are the worldwide gold standard body composition scan. Used by NFL, NBA and MLB teams and Olympic athletes, these scans are now available to patients at the Holland Clinic. DEXA uses very low dose X-Rays to see inside the body and directly measure body fat, lean tissue, bone and much more.  We suggest a scan at the start of your weight loss to establish a baseline and to use as a basis for measuring body fat loss directly.
