Program Re-Integration

If you should fall away from our program before you are ready to stop and later decide that you wish to resume care, we have a plan for that too. In truth, unplanned program dropout is pretty common and can happen to almost anybody. We are all human and any weight loss program worth its salt will account for that. Note that re-integration after a hiatus of less than one year is a simple process (we call in 'Re-Starting') whereas when more than a year has passed, re-integration is more like starting all over (we call that 'Renewing').

Re-Start or Re-New: Resuming Care at Holland Clinic After Program Completion or Drop-Out

Navigating Your Return to Our Weight Loss Program with Confidence and Support

At Holland Clinic, we understand that weight loss is a journey with ups and downs. If you have previously completed or dropped out of our program, you may be considering resuming care to continue working towards your weight loss goals. In this article, we will discuss the differences between Re-Start and Re-New, the decision to resume care, and the various options available to you when returning to Holland Clinic. We want you to know that there is no shame in returning for care, and our team is here to support you every step of the way.

Re-Start vs. Re-New

The distinction between Re-Start and Re-New depends on the duration of time since your last visit with us:

Re-Start

If your last visit was less than a year ago, you can resume care as a Re-Start. This allows you to avoid the 'first visit' fee, enjoy more scheduling flexibility, and your first return visit will not require a full hour.

Re-New

If it has been over a year since your last visit, you will need to start over as a Re-New patient. This involves completing our new patient intake form (https://hollandclinic.formstack.com/forms/intake), scheduling a full hour visit, and undergoing new blood testing.

Deciding to Resume Care:

When considering whether to resume care, it's important to assess your current weight and health status. Mild weight regain is normal, but if you continue to gain weight over time or have regained more than 50% of the weight you lost during the program, it may be time to consider resuming care. It's crucial to avoid denial and not to panic about normal weight fluctuations. Ultimately, the decision to return is a personal one based on your individual needs and goals.

Exploring Different Programs and Options:

When resuming care at Holland Clinic, you have the option to pursue a different program than your previous one or try different diets or medications within a program. Our team will work with you to customize your weight loss plan to best suit your needs and preferences.

Embracing a Supportive Environment:

There is no shame in returning for care at Holland Clinic. Dr. Holland and our entire staff understand that weight management is a chronic and relapsing issue, and we offer a judgment-free, supportive environment to help you succeed.

Taking Your Time:

The duration of time that a returning patient spends in our care after re-matriculation can vary widely. At Holland Clinic, we do not pressure you to lose weight faster than initially planned. Our focus is on helping you achieve lasting success at a pace that is comfortable for you.

Conclusion:

Whether you are a Re-Start or Re-New patient, Holland Clinic is here to support you in resuming care and continuing on your weight loss journey. Our compassionate team will help you navigate the process of returning to our program, providing guidance, encouragement, and personalized care to help you achieve your goals. Remember, the key to long-term success is perseverance and adaptability. By embracing the support and resources available at Holland Clinic, you can regain control of your health and enjoy a happier, healthier life.
