Diethylpropion Also Known as Tenuate or Tenuate Dospan or Tepanil

Diethylpropion is a chemical very similar in structure to a commonly prescribed anti-depressant medication called bupropion or Wellbutrin. The two chemical structures are shown side-by-side below.

producing fewer side effects but also often causing less weight loss. It is a medication that I dispense to patients when I feel that weight loss and caution are both indicated. Unfortunately, diethylpropion has also become an expensive medication.
