Health Risks of Obesity

Obesity adversely affects human health in so many ways that a thorough list of all of them would be prohibitive, but some of the most significant are linked to the right. For every illness cited risk is generally proportional to the degree of obesity or amount of excess body fat that a person carries and to the length of time it is carried. Likewise risk is nearly universally reduced by weight loss, again in proportion to amount and time.

Obesity is dangerous, weight loss reduces that danger.

Browse each illness for a brief description of it and an explanation of its relationship to obesity.
