Weight History

Weight graph for a Holland Clinic patient
Understanding the history of your weight over your lifetime is a crucial part of designing strategies for its treatment and to this end, Dr. Holland will devote a substantial portion of your first visit with him to asking very detailed questions about "when", "where", "why" and "how much" your weight changed at various points in your past.

How You Can Help With Your Weight History:
We ask that before seeing Dr. Holland you spend some time thinking about, and perhaps even writing down, the history of your weight. Helpful strategies include going through pictures, diaries and journals and trying to associate various weights in the past with definitive historical events. For example, nearly everyone remembers what he or she was doing on September 11, 2001. If you think about it, you probably can also remember your weight, at least in a general way.
