Medical Management of Weight-Related Illnesses

While we are not general medical clinic, obesity can lead to other secondary (co-morbid) illnesses that require treatment. Most of these illness, for example diabetes or hypertension, will improve with weight loss, but at the same time, a patient may need to begin tapering down and off of medications used to control these illnesses. Dr. Holland encourages patients to work with their primary physicians during this time, but often, simply because of time, he will help patients manage these other illnesses too.
