Stress Reduction

Stress is a major cause of weight gain
Most of us believe that we usually operate under the influence of conscious will, but in fact much of human behavior, particularly behaviors centered around basic needs and urges occur quite automatically and without much or any conscious consideration. Eating is a perfect example of this, particularly eating when it occurs in the absence of hunger which happens commonly to people under stress.

Stress reduction techniques can therefore be an important component of successful weight loss for some people, particularly people whose eating behaviors qualify as "inhibited" (nearly all overweight people).
